Paver Calculator
Enter the patio size and pick your paver size to get the number of pavers, the gravel for the base, the bedding sand and the bags of polymeric sand for the joints.
Add 5% extra for a straight layout and 10 to 15% for herringbone, curves or lots of cuts. A patio base is usually 4 inches of compacted gravel; driveways need 6 to 8.
How it’s calculated
- Pavers = area × pavers per sq ft × (1 + waste %). A 4 × 8 in paver covers 0.22 sq ft, so it takes 4.5 per square foot.
- Base gravel (cu yd) = area × base depth (in) ÷ 12 ÷ 27. Bedding sand is the same at 1 inch.
